Kiryu’s Saga is over. After seven separate series with the journey of an underground criminal organization full of twists and intrigues, Kiryu is finally ready to hang his punches and death kicks for a more peaceful life. SEGA and the studio developer – Ryu Ga Gotoku himself did not stop there. Together with the existence of the latest series – Yakuza 7: The Whereabouts of Lights and Darkness which will bear the name “just” Yakuza: Like a Dragon in the west, a new protagonist named Ichiban Kasuga becomes a star. This new story direction is also supported by locations that are no longer using Kamurocho, as well as a gameplay system that has now changed to JRPG. But Ryu Ga Gotoku still has one extra surprise.
Answering one of the most haunting big questions, considering that he will take the story of the Yakuza that we all know, the latest trailer for Yakuza 7 finally revealed the presence of the iconic figure who has been the 7th star of the last Yakuza series – Kazuma Kiryu. This short video snippet at the end of the 10-minute trailer shows Kiryu, whom we have always known, who seems to want to fight Ichiban Kasuga. SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku themselves didn’t share much details about this battle or whether Kiryu could be recruited as a Kasuga party member or not.
The Yakuza 7 itself is planned to be released on January 16, 2020 in the Japanese market, for the Playstation 4. While the demo version will be enjoyed from November 13, 2019, via PSN Japan.
